  Humane Care and Handling

SAFETY somehow becomes that neglected extra item. When shoeing an animal it must understand we intend it no harm. I enjoy horses, and they usually like me too. I must always be aware of any sign of trouble. I will be in harms way.

Correct tools and equipment can make the trim safer, faster, more agreeable, and help me do my best work. Most important, I am a graduate of Jim Addison's Common Sense Horse Shoeing and trained at Walla Walla CC.

I use both hot and cold shoeing for best results. When shoeing, I will have a fire extinguisher for our protection. There are many excellent shoe types available. During dry weather, when fire danger is high, consider aluminum or polymer shoes. They do not spark and are very light in weight.

I enjoy good health, and I know your horse will too.
